DRINKS RECEPTION
We set up wherever the guests will be. We even have lithium battery powered equipment for use in 'off grid' situations.
Set up outside when the weather is good enough for your guests, otherwise inside your venue or marquee. This usually lasts about 1.5 hrs although you may want a longer drinks reception if the weather is exceptional or the photographer needs more time.
DURING YOUR WEDDING BREAKFAST
We generally move to the room where the main meal is taking place ahead of the guests. We're then able to provide a welcoming ambience as they are finding their seats and before the new couple are welcomed in!
During the meal we pride ourselves on getting the volume just right - to be present without being too loud, and to play a selection of music chosen 'on the fly' just for your mix of guests. We usually play up to the speeches (if they are at the end of the meal), or at another point negotiated with you. The base time for the reception is 3 hours to include drinks, photos and meal. However, if you need longer then that's not a problem. You can even decide to extend the booking time on the day if the timings drift and you want us to play longer.
We don't take breaks and we offer a huge selection of music.
We carry 2 types of Roland digital piano including a top of the range digital grand shell by DutchGrand. Nikki plays an acoustic cello built by her father (a stringed instrument maker) back in 1986, now equipped with the latest piezo-electric pickup. Discrete amplification is by Bose and Line6.
With our versatile setups we can cater for intimate groups of 10 right up to marquees and Asian-style weddings with several hundred guests.
IN THE LULL BETWEEN THE MEAL AND THE EVENING RECEPTION
Often this is a time when the day guests are unsure what to do, and the evening guests start to arrive. There needs to be a focus, and sometimes live music is the answer. DJs don't want to start until later and neither do bands, so you have a lull when people are relaxing and mingling before the evening reception starts..

add-on time @ £180/hr
ADDITIONAL FEE FOR PERFORMING ‘OFF-GRID’ £75 (due to extra gear & setting up)
THE 'LULL' is charged at £180 per additional hour. Minimum booking is 1 hour.
